This blog is my personal blog about anything that comes to my wacky mind. Since it is random, I feel that calling it “The Meanderings of Scott” is more than appropriate. Feel free to read and make comments, though if you make an ugly comment I reserve the right to delete it. Simply put, this blog is my fun creative outlet, and you’re more than welcome to come along for the ride. I’ll try to be an entertaining host.

  1. Hey Scott:

    This is prettttty random… but…

I am applying to enter the UNT Master’s Program in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems (Instructional Design) in the Fall. I was gathering old syllabi for the core classes via Google, and I came across your blog when I located the wiki for New Technologies of Instruction (CECS 5200) from the fall of 2008. Like I said – RANDOM.

I was wondering – if you wouldn’t mind – about possibly getting your opinion of the program. I’m mostly interested in different areas of e-learning innovation: synchronous (& asynchronous) discussion/collaboration, interactive educational games/apps, immersive learning environments, etc., etc. yadda yadda. But – I’m still not exactly sure what the job market is like out there (I’m not particularly interested in corp. training (or big $ – obviously)). The online part of it – sort of irks me – but I was planning on moving near Discovery Park (currently I am in Dallas) – and spending as much time there as possible.

    Anyhow… Hope this shout-out doesn’t seem creepy.

    • Hi, Todd –

I apologize for not responding sooner. I’ve been putting in a lot of extra hours at work lately. I’ll be glad to give you my thoughts on the program, but it may be this weekend before I can get you a really good response. I’ll send you a response through Gmail.

Thanks for finding the blog! Don’t worry about the random response… it’s a random blog! 🙂

      Take care,

  2. Hey Scott:

    Thanks for the response.

No problem at all about the short delay. I’m having fun practicing JavaScript (sarcasm) at the moment, and I’m also reading some of the required materials I’ve gathered from old syllabi from the Master’s program core classes. Good times… good times (thinking of Jerri Blank).

Anyhow, when you get a chance, and obviously there is no hurry.

    Take care and thanks again,
